About

At The Healing Place,

We believe that true wellness begins when the mind, body and spirit are in harmony. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing environment where individuals can heal, grow and reconnect with their authentic selves. We exist to support people of color and immigrant populations in reclaiming their wholeness through empowering, and culturally responsive holistic therapy.

Hi, I’m Tanya,

If you’ve been silently carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, grief, or stress, know that you’re not alone—and you don’t have to face it alone. Many of us struggle to reconnect with our inner strength, especially when life feels overwhelming or isolating. My passion is helping individuals like you navigate the emotional impact of childhood trauma, loss, anxiety, and the many layers of stress that can affect our lives.

With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, my journey began working with families in the foster care system—supporting them through the deep and lasting effects of trauma. Since then, I’ve worked in both private practice and healthcare settings, experiences that have shaped me into the compassionate, holistic, and empowering therapist I am today.

As a woman of color and someone with lived experience navigating cultural identity and migration, I am especially passionate about supporting people of color and immigrant populations. I offer culturally affirming therapy that honors your identity, your roots, and the intergenerational experiences that shape who you are. I believe that healing must include space for your cultural story to be seen, heard, and respected.

I take a person-centered, strength-based approach to therapy—honoring your individuality while supporting your growth. I also integrate a holistic perspective, understanding that true healing involves both mind and body, including attention to physical health and nutrition.

My areas of Specialization include:

Trauma & PTSD

Life Transitions

What is holistic therapy?

Holistic therapy looks at the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
